A company wanted to automate the management / servicing of their portfolio of real estate assets – properties and liens. The company also had a large collection of real estate related data that they wanted to leverage into a new business opportunity and a new source of revenue. Their goals were to:

  • Automate Existing Processes
  • Deploy New Service
  • Reduce Costs
  • Increase Revenue

Automate Existing Processes

The client was using paper files and spreadsheets to manage / service their real estate portfolio. As the client’s portfolio grew in size they needed to automate their processes. A custom multi-user web-based application was developed to meet their unique needs. This application was critical to their business operation. The application required a highly-available, scalable, and secure platform to run but was constrained by budget realities.

The solution was to deploy an in-house data center with a clustered multi-tiered (web / application / database) server platform. The platform was designed to scale. As the client’s needs grow, the platform can easily match the growth through deployment of additional data center locations. This approach allowed the client to meet their business requirements – operationally and financially.

Deploy New Service

The client had a very large collection of real estate data. They recognized the value of integrating this data with the management / servicing of their real estate portfolio. The client wanted to leverage their real estate data into a new business opportunity (and a new revenue stream) by offering access to other companies. The client started development of a data service application. Similar to their management application, this application required a highly-available, scalable, and secure platform to run.

The solution was to deploy a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that was scalable, highly-available, and secure that supported both internal and external users.

Reduce Costs

The management application has reduced the amount of time required to manage / service their real estate portfolio. The platform has proven to be reliable and cost effective. As the client’s portfolio grows, the application and platform will continue to deliver a reduction in cost to manage / service their real estate portfolio.

Increase Revenue

The data service application is currently under construction and will soon be ready to generate revenue for the client. A scalable SaaS platform was designed and an instance of the platform was deployed at the client’s in-house data center.

Results

Delivery of operational platforms (the initial project milestones) were completed on time and within budget. Work continues on the project to accommodate client growth and to address new business opportunities.
